One of the most
revolutionary technologies of modern century, Biotechnology has great
scope for innovative researches. The fast paced industry has already
evolved mammoth. Since, there are still many unfamiliar aspects of
the technology, researchers are in doubt pertaining to its wide
acceptance, durability and implications. The advances made in the
field are still not accessible to masses and several aspects of
Biotechnology owing to its technological manifestations are novel and
beyond comprehension of common crowd.
However, the scenario is
often amplified by a variety of interlocutors who interpret the
concepts in the way that confirm to their own political agenda. Such
advocates have been ferociously endeavoring to impede the progress of
the novel advances through legal undue allegations, untrue propaganda
under the façade of safety and mass benefit. However, their
arguments are not supported by any scientific facts and empirical
evidences. As a consequence, this confusion has led to befuddlement
of common masses as to what are actual risks and benefits of modern
Biotechnology.
Hence, the critical need
of the hour has been to educate people about the scope and limitation
of the technology advancement and implication accruing to
biotechnology. Many engineering colleges offering M.tech in Biotechnology tend to teach students at a very fundamental level.
Global scientific community is facing massive challenges in becoming
more active to reach out to people while educating them correctly. It
is of equal importance to generate awareness about the scientific
evolution in the process in way that is comprehensible to public.
To enhance the widespread
popularity and application of the concept, colleges provide an
integrated biomedical and mechanical engineering program. The
discipline entails concepts of life sciences with the traditional
mechanical engineering topics like fluid mechanics, thermodynamics,
and solid mechanics to solve and analyze problems related to bio mechanical engineering. Hence joining those mechanical
engineering colleges that provide integrated course related to
Bio technology will help students learn the dynamic of both fields
along with correct practical approach and social implications. The
monopoly of political propaganda seekers would cease when society at
large is educated over the technology.
